ABOUT Rob

Rob Kosin

Rob’s practice is conducting workplace investigations and offering advice and counsel to employers on myriad workplace issues – from employee relations counsel to wage and hour advice, and developing workplace policy to complying with local, state and federal employment regulations. Rob’s passion for conducting workplace investigations arises out of his long-time love of supporting his clients’ efforts to be employers of choice. Rob also advises physicians who have questions or face issues arising out of their institution’s medical staff bylaws, their employer’s workplace policies, or their own employment-related agreements.

Rob believes that one of the most important efforts an organization can make to drive its own success is to pay attention to what’s going on in the workplace. While most employers want to do the right thing, they are overburdened with the challenges and uncertainties of running a business while trying to understand the applicable employment regulations and stay in compliance. As an advisor, Rob works with owners, managers, HR professionals and counsel to identify and solve and mitigate risk in employee relations issues as they arise (and they will) while also recommending written policies and best practices for becoming the employer of choice in their industry.

To all his work, Rob brings more than 20 years of legal experience in the public and private sectors, in health care, higher education, non-profit, government, as well as litigation in administrative agencies, private arbitrations, and in state and federal courts. Rob is a member of Association of Workplace Investigators, the Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys, and a past member of the Washington State Hospital Association and National Association of College and University Attorneys.  He is a proud graduate of Whitman College, where he played intercollegiate soccer and was the president of the rugby club (and also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and a Classics Minor), and of the Seattle University School of Law. Originally from the East Coast, Rob grew up in the Pacific Northwest and is never leaving.  If Rob isn’t working, you might find him in the kitchen or at a movie theater, on a sailboat or bicycle, playing soccer or pickleball, exploring cities at home and abroad, or at a Reign or Sounders game with one or both of his soccer-loving teens.
